Backgammon

Backgammon is one of the oldest board games in the world: a race around the board where dice, tactics and timing all matter. Move your 15 checkers home, hit your opponent's single checkers to send them back, and be the first to bear them all off.

Features

• Play a friend online in a private room, or Quick match with anyone
• Play vs the computer on Easy, Normal or Hard. The hard bot looks at every answer to your move
• Full rules: entering from the bar, hitting, blocked points, doubles played four times, using both dice when you can, and bearing off
• Plan your turn freely with Undo, then tap Done
• Gammons and backgammons are shown when you win big
• Pip counts, animated checkers and dice, chat and emoji reactions

1. Start a game: create a room and invite a friend, tap Quick match, or play vs the computer.
2. Roll: tap Roll. Each die is one move; doubles are played four times.
3. Move: tap a checker, then a glowing point (one tap is enough when there's only one choice). You must use both dice if you can, or the higher one if only one can be played.
4. Hit: land on a point with a single enemy checker to send it to the bar. Checkers on the bar must come back in first.
5. Bear off: once all 15 of your checkers are in your home board, move them off the board.
6. Win: bear off all your checkers first. Win before your opponent bears any off for a gammon; while they still have one in your home or on the bar for a backgammon. Use Undo to change your mind, then Done.
